STRUCTURAL REPAIR OF HISTORIC TIMBER FRAMED AND LOG HOMES

Traditional Builders, Inc. has had many years of training and experience in stabilizing log homes, timber frames, post and beam and other period structural technologies. Time, neglect and exposure to the elements can cause rot and structural failure. Our goal is to stabilize the building while preserving as much of the original fabric as possible. Depending on the structure, and the specific needs of the owner, this can involve reproduction and replacement of logs and timbers (using period joinery), epoxy repairs of existing elements in place or other types of reinforcement.

Traditional Builders, Inc. offers complete restoration and repair services for period log buildings and homes and for the timber frames found in most historic structures. We also furnish new timber frames in period styles appropriate for the neighborhood for additions or new structures. Working in Maryland and the Washington, DC area exclusively, we help clients to preserve the distinctive historic buildings of the region and to produce new buildings that faithfully continue this architectural tradition. We take pride in every project as do all our subcontractors and suppliers. We look forward to talking to you about stabilizing and preserving your historic building for the years to come.

Clients appreciate the close personal attention we give to every project. Our company is fully licensed, bonded, and insured and can administer all permitting and Historic District Commission review issues. Contact us by  email or call our office at  (410) 991-1834, or fax us at  (410) 263-5586.
